Silver Feather Necklace or Earrings 2 styles. Style 1 is Sterling silver with 18″ liquid silver chain with reconstituted turquoise beads and single feather necklace, and hook earrings with single feather. Liquid silver is a term used to describe a type of sterling silver chain made from tiny tubes of silver strung together. Style 2 is a genuine piece of craftwork by a Native American artisan (Frederick Yazzie Pendant, Marilyn Yazzie earrings) complete with certificate of authenticity. The necklace doesn’t have a chain. There is a reconstituted turquoise motif central to the necklace and earrings which have a hook fitting. Approximate Measurements of feather style 1: earrings 17 x 5mm, necklace 25 x 7mm. And of style 2 earrings 38.5mm x 12.5mm. Necklace 37 x 12.5mm.
The feather is central to all Native American beliefs, a totem of the all-seeing, all-powerful Thunderbird and as such empowers the wearer with his spirit. Many Navajo will journey with prayer feathers in order to honour Thunderbird and call on his guidance. A gift of feather is considered a great honour.
