Silver feather earrings and necklaces in the style of Native American lores and legend. Earrings have a turquoise tube and sterling silver stud fitting. Feather measures approximately 1.5cms, 3cms from top of earring to bottom of feather. First necklace (SCDR850T) features a 2.5cm diameter silver dreamcatcher with a small turquoise nugget in the web, 6 nuggets throughout the chain, and a 2cm silver feather. The liquid silver chain measures 44cms, approximately 28.5cms top of chain to bottom of feather. Second necklace (SCDR62X) features a 2cm diameter silver dreamcatcher with 2 1.5cm feathers hanging from it by 4 seed beads. The Liquid silver chain measures approximately 40cms, 22cms top of chain to bottom of the dreamcatcher. There are 32 turquoise, lapis, coral and other seed beads at the bottom of the chain.

Liquid silver is a term used to describe a type of sterling silver chain made from tiny tubes of silver strung together.

These pretty feather pieces are not made by the Navajo but are inspired by the Native American lores and legends.

The feather is central to all Native American beliefs, a totem of the all-seeing, all-powerful Thunderbird and as such empowers the wearer with his spirit. Many Navajo will journey with prayer feathers in order to honour Thunderbird and call on his guidance. A gift of feather is considered a great honour.

The Navajo Nation has been decimated by recent events and ongoing poverty, 40% already live below the poverty line, and delays in getting medical supplies, limited access to food stores, hospitals and even access to running water in overcrowded homes and the indifference of the government have all exacerbated the problem.
