Lapis bear earrings and necklace as featured in Navajo lore and legend. Necklace has a 40cm liquid silver chain, silver feather, with 8 lapis tubes either side and sterling silver fittings. Bear measures approximately 2 x 1cm, 24cms top of chain to bottom of feather. Earrings same size bear, approximately 3cms top of bear to bottom of feather, sterling silver hook fittings.

Liquid silver is a term used to describe a type of sterling silver chain made from tiny tubes of silver strung together. This is stabilised lapis. Stabilizing with Resins or polymers are sometimes introduced into Lapis Lazuli to fortify porous or fragile sections of the stone. This not only strengthens it but can also subtly deepen its colour to augment the natural beauty of Lapis Lazuli.

These pretty bear pieces are not made by the Navajo but are inspired by the Native American lores and legends.

Regularly featured in mythology, the bear is largely a solitary animal. In terms of Native American belief, the bear is a symbol of ‘going within’ and the sweetness of life.
