Description
Eagle and Turquoise Earrings sterling silver. Measurement from top of eagle wing to bottom tip of feathers is about 4.5 cms (one and three quarter inches). The design shows an eagle in flight on a round turquoise cabachon and turquoise beading above the feathers. The beads are reconstituted turquoise. We also sell the matching necklace. Made by a Native American artist in the USA. Eagles are powerful birds of prey. When used in jewellery or other items, the eagle symbol can represent a connection between the earth and the higher realms above, where eagles soar in the sky. Native Americans believe that the eagle has a spiritual connection to their prayers. The Native American tribes performed the Eagle dance when there was a need for divine intervention. Historically, the Native Americans performed the dance for a variety of reasons, including friendship creation and curing a sickness and the power to control thunder and rain. It is believed that the Eagle Dance was originally part of a larger ceremony performed to bring rain at a time of year when crops were being planted and water was essential.
The peaceful energy of turquoise can remind us to try and remain calm during emotional unrest and develop friendships rather than enemies.
